The VOICE of the VALLEY

WMRW was started in 2003 when the FCC awarded Rootswork a permit to build a low-powered FM (LPFM) station at the old East Warren Schoolhouse.  Rootswork is a local grassroots non-profit organization devoted to promoting sustainable agriculture and community.  The schoolhouse is located at the East Warren Four Corners, the intersection of East Warren Road and the Roxbury Mountain Road.

WMRW is our Valley's new non-profit radio station. What we're all about is summed up in our Mission Statement:

WMRW-LP, Community Radio for the Mad River Valley, strives to inform, entertain, involve, educate, and connect the diverse Mad River Valley community through independent non-commercial radio programming.

Inform Share what's going on in the Valley and in the larger world.

A little history . . .

"Low Power" means that we broadcast at or below 100 watts. Our engineering team reports the radio signal can reach Warren, Waitsfield, Fayston and Moretown (see our Coverage Map). We're on the FM band, at 95.1. And Waitsfield Cable carries our signal and extends our reach to all of their subscribers.

We invite you to get involved and become a member of the station's organizing effort. After all, this is a community radio station. We need your support, talent, energy, and commitment.

To get involved, or for more information, call us at 496-4951, or email us.
